About Calm Harm – manages self harm App

Calm Harm – manages self harm Features and Description

Calm Harm offers tasks to help you resist or deal with the urge to hurt yourself. If you want, you can set a password to be completely private. You can also customize it if you want, choosing the background color theme and deciding if you want a business to use a variety of cool characters. The application then offers you four categories of tasks to help you surf the urge. “Distracting” helps to learn self-control; “Comfort” helps you care rather than harm; “Express Yourself” expresses these feelings in a different way and “Release” offers safe alternatives to self-harm. There is also a “Breathe” category to help calm down and regain control. You can do the activities for five minute or fifteen minute blocks with a countdown for each minute. You will be able to follow your progress and note the changes *. Calm Harm was developed for an adolescent mental health charity stem4 by Dr. Krause, a consulting clinical psychologist using the fundamentals of an evidence-based treatment called Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT). Note that if you forget both your password and your memorable password, these cannot be reset as we do not create user accounts and you will have to reinstall the app, losing all previous data. * Please note that the app is a treatment aid but not a substitute for it.
