Cengage Mobile Features and Description

The Cengage Mobile app allows students and instructors to stay engaged with lessons, in and out of the classroom. For students, the app offers offline reading, gradebook access, and notifications for key course events. For instructors, the app offers an easy way to check class notes, take attendance, and create surveys that keep students interested. To use this app, you must have an active Cengage account. You can use the app to access: – Cengage unlimited ebooks – MindTap, CNOWv2 or SAM * courses and ebooks – all ebooks purchased through cengage.com * (note that SAM users must be registered with MindTap or use SAM in conjunction with an LMS.)

Feature summary: eBooks *: Download your manual with offline access! Browse the different chapters, search for specific pages and terms, or take notes, highlights and bookmarks. Have the book read aloud using text to speech. Flashcards & Flashcard Quiz: Study on the go using pre-made flash card sets. Then check your knowledge with quizzes generated by key terms. Activity Lists: Stay on top of all your tasks with to-do lists! Go through all the assignments and activities in your course and view the due dates. For world language courses, you can even do homework in the app. We plan to roll it out in other courses in the future. Notifications and reminders: set up easily date reminders and get notified of the note and due date date changes. Gradebook: view your overall grade for the course as well as the grade breakdown by different activities. You can also check out instructor comments and grade changes! Access to the notebook requires additional authentication, by password, fingerprint or face ID. Survey and Class Attendance: Instructors can check if students are in the classroom using geotagging or allowing remote check-ins. They can also view and edit timecards and export them to their favorite notebook. Instructors can also create classroom surveys, review the results as a whole class, and export those results. * Note on eBooks: We currently support the majority of eBooks related to courses and Cengage Unlimited. Textbooks from 2014 and earlier, international or custom titles are not supported. Annotations are not currently synchronized with web players.

If you are concerned about privacy, then Cengage Mobile is not the best option. Period. Cengage Mobile tracks you. With many open tabs, let’s say one or two dozen, Cengage Mobile interface will start breaking down and behaving inconsistently. At some point, the interface might stop responding entirely.

The Cengage Mobile so many annoyances, so little time. Slow, bulky, difficult to use/navigate, and works VERY poorly sometimes with my iPod and iPhone.

I don’t think  that Cengage Mobile usefull,  it’s time to move on to something easier also the Cengage Mobile need to fix some bugs.
